Ed Sheeran recently revealed that he popped the question to his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn. Since the announcement, we've been anxiously waiting for more details of the "Galway Girl" singer's wedding to emerge. Though Sheeran hasn't given us much to work with, a little digging reveals that the singer did actually previously reveal his favorite wedding song of all time. Think it'll make his own reception playlist?
In a July 2017 interview with Oprah magazine, Sheeran was asked what the best song to play at a wedding was. His response? "'Brown Eyed Girl' by Van Morrison," said the Grammy-winner. "If the bride doesn't have brown eyes, a lot of the guests probably will—so whenever I sing it, the dance floor goes off."
Sounds like "Perfect" might not be the couple's official wedding song, as one would assume. (But we bet it will make the playlist!)
As for the dinner menu? Ed didn't explicitly say what he will choose for his reception, but he did mention his favorite dish: "Bangers and mash, which is a stereotypical English dish. It's basically real sausages—not boiled pink hot dogs—with mashed potatoes and onion gravy. Whenever I go home, my mom makes it for me. If she thinks I haven't been eating, she'll put 15 sausages in the dish instead of the three it calls for."
Though most of the interview focused on Sheeran's favorite things and not the details of his wedding (he wasn't even engaged at the time!), he did hint at a potential honeymoon plan, which would include something off the beaten path and adventurous. When asked what his best adventure was, he responded, "Going to Iceland immediately after I won two Grammys last year. The first thing I did was jump into the Blue Lagoon. I spent the next three days doing things like hiking and being pulled on a sled by huskies. It was mad."
We wonder what Cherry thinks about that!
The "Shape of You" singer announced his nuptial news just a few days ago on Instagram. Posting a picture of himself and his new fiancé, he captioned the sweet snapshot, "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."
