Saying it's been an exciting week for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is an understatement. In addition to his team's victory in the 2018 Super Bowl on Sunday, the athlete also has an engagement to celebrate after popping the question to his girlfriend!
Wentz isn't the only one scoring a ring after Sunday's Super Bowl LII. His girlfriend also just got her own bit of bling. The football player shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting a picture of his romantic rooftop proposal to his now-fiancée, Madison “Maddie” Oberg, complete with a candlelit walkway and hanging Christmas lights.
"She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring 💍😎 can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough!" Wentz wrote alongside the shot.
Oberg and Wentz are believed to have started dating in 2017. Oberg made her debut on Wentz’s Instagram account in December, just after he had surgery on his ACL. Wentz shared a picture of himself and Oberg in the hospital, with the caption, "Surgery ✔️ the comeback officially begins now! The Lord truly blessed me with this beautiful young lady to walk by my side and support me through all of this! #comeback #grateful"
Though the two have moved quickly in their relationship, they've seemingly spent much of that time together. The couple even celebrated the holidays together, with Wentz sharing a photo of them on Christmas Eve.
"New Christmas tradition at the Wentz house! Gingerbread cookie decorating battle... because everything is a competition... even on Christmas 😎 safe to say Maddie and I took the cake on this one 🙌🏼 Merry Christmas everybody!" Wentz wrote.
Congrats to the happy couple—on their Super Bowl victory and their new relationship status!
