When I recently asked Denver-based planner Julie Gambrell of Classic Creations what her favorite wedding venues in the area are, she told me that her all-time favorite location is the Dunafon Castle—and it's not hard to see why.
Located 15 miles west of Denver on the banks of Bear Creek, the restored castle—originally built in 1941— sits on 17 acres with multiple ponds, groves of evergreen trees, and an actual miniature electric railroad that surrounds the property. Inside, you'll find massive stone fireplaces, Old World-style wall paintings, and two rooftop terraces offering panoramic views of the grounds. "One of the best elements is that a portion of the money you spend on your site fee is donated to charity, so you can feel good that you're helping support a worthy cause," says Julie.—Lauren Matthews, associate editor, Brides Colorado
