Mix-tape CDs (yes, I know I'm mixing eras here) are SO yesterday. Want to help someone while you celebrate? Here's a favor everyone can get behind: bars of Divine Chocolate, a fair-trade brand chocolate made from cocoa grown by Ghanian farmers.
The bars come in white chocolate, dark chocolate, mint dark chocolate, milk chocolate, milk hazelnut, and white chocolate flavors. You can also get individually-wrapped minibars and tins of cocoa. Use the larger bars for favors, and add the smaller bars or a tin of cocoa to your welcome basket for out of town guests. I think the black-and-gold cocoa tins look smart enough for a favor in themselves, but I'm a cocoa hound.
The best part is that you're doing good when you buy: profits from the sale of Divine Chocolate get funneled back to the growers to build schools and fund mobile medical clinics, clean drinking water, and women's income generating projects.
Another benefit for all the veg-heads out there: most of the Divine Chocolate bars (except the White Chocolate, which contains whey products) are considered vegetarian, and the Divine Dark Chocolate and the Divine Dark Chocolate with Mint are vegan. —from our Local Scout Atlanta blogger Melissa Diskin
