If you're a fan of spell-breaking kisses, happily-ever-afters, and talking animal sidekicks, we're sure you've seen the Disney-princess-inspired wedding dresses floating around on the Net. Maybe you have a Pinterest inspiration board dedicated to them or even wore one to your Disney-themed wedding when you said "I do" to your very own Prince Charming. But who said that brides get to have all the fun? Sure, the bride is the star of the show, but that doesn't mean you can't get all gussied up for the royal ball you've just scored an invite to and feel like a princess too. And now it's easier than ever, as Disney just released a line of princess-inspired cocktail dresses practically perfect in every way—for wedding guests, that is! Dreams really do come true....
According to Us Weekly, Florida's Walt Disney World just opened up the Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane, a brand-new boutique full of princess-inspired semiformal dresses, all touting a serious vintage vibe. And no worries about upstaging the bride in Belle's yellow ball gown or Cinderella's voluminous wedding-worthy dress. These cocktail frocks are subtle plays on the iconic looks of your fave princesses, making them less juvenile and totally acceptable for formal occasions, like anything in *cough cough* wedding season.
"We designed the Dress Shop collection for guests who want to emulate their favorite Disney characters or theme-park attractions in a fun, retro way," said merchandiser Donna Sorrow on the Disney Parks Blog. "These items aren't costumes. Rather the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style."
For instance, there's a dotted red fit-and-flare frock inspired by Minnie Mouse, an Aztec-esque print à la Pocahontas, a Snow White dress with a whimsical apple print, and an Alice in Wonderland number with a teacup print. There are even some fun frocks inspired by fan-favorite Disney Park attractions, like the Haunted Manson and the "It's a Small World" ride. Priced between $100 and $160, all the dresses have '50s-style silhouettes, with cinched waists and voluminous skirts—perfect for a twirl around the reception ballroom. Unfortunately, the dresses are available for purchase only at Walt Disney World right now, but Disney promised they'll eventually be sold online as well.
Take a little virtual tour of the boutique above and then book your ticket to Florida to go shopping for a wedding-guest dress. (Wedding season is upon us, after all!)
