Nobody puts the bride in the corner—especially not this one! When it comes to first dances, this New Jersey newlywed just SHUT.IT.DOWN with her new hubs, pulling off the famous final number from 1987's Dirty Dancing in its entirety. BRB, picking our jaws up off the floor…especially when we remember that today marks the movie's 30 anniversary! Feeling old yet?
Our first thought when we saw the video (see below) of Lindsay Pergola and Rich Guarini's first dance at their New Year's Eve wedding? HOW?! Just, how?! How did this too-cool couple manage to pull off such a crazy-good performance? And moreover, how on earth did the bride convince her new hubby to go along with it? Props, girl.
Anyway, the Facebook video featuring the seriously impressive choreographed dance starts off with the newlyweds standing in the middle of their glam reception ballroom, and as soon as those first few familiar chords begin to play, all of their guests instantly know that they're in for the "Time of [Their] Life." Literally!
From there, the couple nails every single move from the original dance, as smoke dramatically blooms around them. Even the bride's short, flirty wedding dress seems to mimic Baby's circle-skirt dress. (All the better to twirl in!) And when the music drops, cueing the rest of the Kellerman's dancers in the film, the groomsmen join in and, obvi, the crowd goes wild. Hey, we don't blame them! (We're losing it too, TBH.) And then the big moment finally arrives. It's time for the lift. Drumroll, please…
And the bride totally nails it! Her groom lifts her up with ease, and we're officially cheering our heads off like mad women. Phew! When it comes to first dances, consider it game, set, match. In our opinion, the only way this could be better is if the bridesmaids showed up carrying watermelons. But, hey, that's just us.
