It's about time! Derek Jeter finally confirmed his engagement to model and longtime love Hannah Davis in a blog post on his website The Players' Tribune. He did it in the most low-key way possible, though. In fact, the announcement was so subtle you could easily miss it!
In a post about his dog, Kane, Jeter sneakily slipped in the F word — fiancée, of course. "I had no idea what I was in for as a new dog owner," the former Yankee wrote. "He was a Christmas gift last year from my fiancée, whose family had Mastiffs growing up. I've never owned a pet in my life."
Davis, for her part, also made a splash when she stepped out onto the New York City streets with her mom wearing the gorgeous sparkler gifted from Jeter yesterday. The round-cut engagement ring is likely 4-6 carats, and, according to Page Six, probably cost Jeter somewhere between $150,000 and $200,000. It could also possibly have bullet diamonds on the band. It's an extremely timeless, and obviously beautiful choice for his stunning bride-to-be!
A source told Page Six that the engagement was to mark an important milestone. "It was for their [three-year] anniversary," an insider said.
Now that he's engaged, he's anxious to start a family. Jeter recently told People, "Kids nowadays are going to be the leaders of the future, and the leaders for not only Jalen [Jeter's nephew], but my kids one day when I have them," he said. "I look forward to being a dad."
