David Hasselhoff just tied the knot in a destination wedding, and before you ask—no, he wasn't running along a sandy beach in a tux in lieu of red swimming trunks. Instead, the former Baywatch star whisked his bride, Hayley Roberts, off to the south of Italy to say "I do" in a small and intimate wedding ceremony.
Nearly eight years after meeting in the lobby of a U.K. hotel (where Roberts asked her now-husband for his autograph!), the couple wed on Tuesday, July 31 in the Puglia region of the south of Italy, Hasselhoff's rep confirmed to Entertainment Tonight.
Ahead of the wedding, Hasselhoff couldn't help but share his excitement for the big day, telling Entertainment Tonight earlier this month, "We're gonna get married on the 31st, you know, in Italy."
"My birthday is on Tuesday and then we shoot out to the UK and a few places and then we're gonna get married, but a very small wedding with her family from Wales in Puglia, which is southern Italy."
Considering that both of Hasselhoff's two daughters from his previous marriage to Pamela Bach—Taylor, 28, and Hayley, 25—have been sharing Instagram snapshots from Italy, it is believed that they were also in attendance for their dad's big day.
"From there we're gonna go to the Maldives and we'll stay underwater for about two weeks," Hasselhoff added of his and his new wife's upcoming honeymoon. A dreamy destination wedding and an out-of-this-world honeymoon? How lucky can a bride get?! But, according to Hasselhoff, he lucked out with his beautiful bride, too.
"There's the girl I imagined in my head that I want to spend my time with, my life with," Hasselhoff previously gushed over Roberts, as reported by BBC. Could you just?!
Congratulations to the happy couple! We just know they'll stage a slo-mo run on the beach in the Maldives.
