This is definitely one couple who won't have to take any ballroom dancing classes for that first wedded spin on the dance floor! Dancing with the Stars pros and off-screen sweethearts, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, got engaged Saturday night. And just where did Chmerkovskiy pop the question to his leading lady? Where else, but on stage!
During a performance of Sway: A Dance Trilogy in Miami, Chmerkovskiy dropped to one knee in front of a cheering audience and his fellow dancers, professing his love for girlfriend, Murgatroyd. "I'm in love with you, and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life," the dreamy dancer proclaimed in an audience-made video of the sweet surprise. "And if you'll have me," he continued. "I want you to be a part of mine." And with that, a stunning sparkler took center stage, as Chmerkovskiy presented his now-fiancée with a diamond engagement ring and those four, lovely little words: "Will you marry me?"
Well?! Did she or didn't she? "She said 'yes'" Chmerkovskiy later captioned a pic of the proposal on Instagram. Mergatroyd was seen soon after the heart-pounding moment, showing off her engagement bling to photographers, with her newly-minted fiancé right at her side, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Of course, the rest of their DWTS fam was over-the-moon about the epic engagement, including Sharna Burgess and Keo Motsepe, who both shared their congratulations to the happy couple via Twitter. "Ahhhhh I'm so excited for my loves!" Brugess wrote. "It's about bloody time!"
Looks like these two have officially found their forever dancing partner! Check out the video of the moment where the DWTS pro popped the question, below!
