This wedding is already going for the gold

Dancing With The Stars's Jenna Johnson won't be sashaying her way down the aisle alone. The bride-to-be—who got engaged to fellow DWTS pro Val Chmerkovskiy in Italy this summer—has asked her former celeb partner, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, to be her bridesman.

“She called me while she was on vacation, pretty shortly after she got the ring," Rippon, 28, explained in an interview with People. "And she was talking to me and she was like, 'You have to be in the wedding.'"

Initially, the athlete thought Johnson might have just been a bit too excited over her impending nuptials. After all, she wouldn't be the first bride to accidentally invite her freshmen year college roommate or third cousin to be a bridesmaid in the heat of the moment. But, thankfully, Johnson was completely serious about the bridal party invitation.

"She brought it up again and confirmed she was being serious," said Rippon. The future bridesman immediately accepted. “I’m super honored,” he noted. And though Rippon doesn't have too many details of the upcoming affair as of yet, the famous figure skater is sure the wedding is “going to be quite the extravaganza” and “very beautiful.”

Rippon also recalled the first time he learned about his friend's engagement. He received a call and at first, was concerned something was wrong. "She had her hand up to her face...then I looked close and I was like, ‘Oh s—.'" You can say that again! The gorgeous ring Johnson scored from her fiancé features a four-carat cushion-cut stone and E! estimates it totes a $60,000 to $65,000 price tag.

Rippon added that he has become very close with both Johnson and Chmerkovskiy throughout his time on DWTS. He and his boyfriend even went on a double date with the soon-to-be husband and wife.

“I feel very in the family," he said.
