Dancing With the Stars coach Cheryl Burke is set to waltz down the aisle! The pro dancer shared that she recently got engaged to Boy Meets World actor Matthew Lawrence, taking to Instagram to share the exciting news.
“OMG! So far so good for 34! 💍#amilliontimesyes #imengaged#herecomesthebride,” Burke captioned a photo she posted on Thursday, showing off a shot of her stunning diamond engagement ring that she snapped at the Montage in Laguna Beach, California.
The DWTS pro also shared a collection of photos of herself and her new fiancé, who is best known for his roles in Boy Meets World, Mrs. Doubtfire, Brotherly Love, and The Hot Chick, including one of Lawrence kissing his bride-to-be on the cheek as she covers her mouth in excitement. The star's surprise proposal comes just after her 34th birthday celebration, from which she also shared footage on social media, posting a video of herself blowing out candles on a cake along with a lengthy caption.
The couple first met in 2006 through Lawrence's older brother, Joey. The elder Lawrence brother appeared on the third season of Dancing With the Stars, where he met Burke. After being introduced to one another, the couple began dating in February 2007 and were together for a year, before breaking up in 2008. The two later rekindled their romance, and now they're planning a trip down the aisle!
“Matt is very supportive and he always wants to make sure that we keep in contact and we’re always on the phone, making sure that everything’s okay. We talk constantly for hours and hours,” Burke previously told People in an interview. The dancer shared that the couple had to work hard to keep their relationship healthy, especially when the two were both on the road and busy with their careers.
