The figure skater walked down the aisle on Saturday to wed her partner of nine years, figure-skater-turned-enterpreneur Fedor Andreev, People reports. The event took place in the South of France, where the couple was surrounded by 95 of their nearest and dearest—Including Davis's uncle, Cam, who performed the ceremony.
“We chose each other, and we’ve been committed to each other for a long time,” the bride told People. “And yet, to be able to celebrate our relationship and what this means for us and our families with our families and our closest friends — and the fact that so many of them are traveling all the way to Europe to celebrate us and this time in our lives — just means so much.”
“We love each other unimaginably,” said the groom in the same interview. “So I’m just really excited to make it official, since we know we want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
They wanted the wedding to feel like an intimate "summer backyard garden party" that felt welcoming to everyone involved. Davis wore a white sleeveless dress by designer Monique Lhuiller, which happened to be the first she tried on, and Andreev wore a custom navy suit, sans tie.
After the ceremony, guests dined at farmhouse table's decorated with purple and blue blossoms amidst the plane tree's on the farm's property. And after dinner, guests danced to a jazz band followed by a DJ with a playlist curated by the couple.
Travel is a huge part of the couple's life, which is why they chose to tie the knot by way of a destination wedding. Andreev called the whole thing a "magical experience" when speaking to People, and Davis added, "how often in life do you get to sort of hit pause and just enjoy an adventure in a beautiful location with the people you love most?”
The couple will spend a few more days celebrating in France before heading off on their honeymoon later this year.
