Okay, so I'm currently planning my roommate's bridal shower and on the hunt for a bridal shower idea that's a little more off the beaten path than your typical tea party or backyard luncheon.
This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but what about a private glassblowing party? The Chicago Hot Glass studio in west Humbolt Park can host group glassblowing parties—you and your friends will tour the studio, watch demos, and then make a paperweight or drinking glass (with the help of a staff member, of course) to take home. Parties can be customized to last anywhere from two to five hours. On one hand, it might be difficult to open gifts while gathering molten glass, but it will definitely be a shower your guests will remember. —Heather Lee, Assistant Editor, Brides Local Magazines
