Getting a tattoo isn't exactly a snap decision. Neither is getting matching tattoos with your significant other. Naturally, it takes a lot of thought and a lot of research to make sure you're being inked by the best possible artist. If not, then it's safe to say there will be consequences, like a botched job or allergic reaction. But what happens when you choose a tattoo for your significant other, and vice versa? Of course you trust your partner, but it takes a special kind of trust in a relationship to allow this. Misspell a word or choose a design that's not exactly the best fit for you S.O., and we can almost guarantee an argument.
Well, it happened. Two brave couples decided to do exactly that, and the entire process was caught on tape. Here we have Tan and Rachelle, a same-sex couple, and Charlie and Amber, an engaged couple.
"I fee like this is the ultimate trust test before the wedding," Amber said. Tan, naturally was extremely nervous to pick a tattoo for her love. She said, "It's her body, and suddenly I have this weird authority over it, which is really uncomfortable to be honest."
“I’m hoping I really love this tattoo because I’m going to be walking down the aisle with this tattoo,” Amber continued.
Then, the process began. The couples were inked at Body Electric Tattoo in Los Angeles. For Tan, Rachelle opted for a gum leaf tattoo, which she drew. Coincidentally, Tan chose the gum leaf for Rachelle! True love. Unfortunately, Tan decided to opt for a pomegranate.
For Charlie and Amber, Charlie wanted the biblical quote, "By grace, through faith" inked on his fiancée, which signified the couple's relationship. For Amber, she also wanted to tattoo some words of wisdom on her beau. "I was thinking of getting 'For the good,' but in a nice modern, clean font. And I'd like to make the 'T' kind of like a cross."
