The counting just never stops: 28-year-old John-David Duggar of Counting On has announced that he is officially courting his girlfriend, 26-year-old Abbie Grace Burnett. The couple revealed their exciting news to Us Weekly, and have nothing but good things to say about their blossoming relationship.
"Abbie and I are just so excited, we’ve known of each other for several years,” the reality star told Us of his new relationship. “We fell in love very quickly and it’s been a wonderful journey thus far."
Burnett revealed that the two first fell in love through their church community. “John flew in for a church event here in Oklahoma where I’m from. We really got connected then,” she said.
John-David's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, shared their support for the new couple on the family's website, writing along with a handful of photos, "We are so excited to announce the courtship of John David and Abbie! John David brings our hearts so much joy and we’ve watched him faithfully pray, wait, and trust God for the right girl to come along! Now, a beautiful relationship has blossomed between the two of them. We can’t wait to see what the Lord will do in the future."
John-David isn't the only Duggar with exciting changes to share this year. His 20-year-old sister, Joy-Anna, and her husband, Austin Forsyth, gave birth to their first son, Gideon Martyn, in February. In June, John-David's younger brother Joseph and his wife, Kendra Caldwell, also welcomed a baby—a son they named Garrett David. John-David even helped the couple plan their gender reveal, shooting a bullet of tannerite mixed with blue powder into the air, releasing a cloud of blue smoke for the rest of the family to see. And as if this family couldn't get any bigger, Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, are expected to give birth to a baby girl sometime later this summer.
With the news of this new courtship, another Duggar wedding has to be only months away, right?
