You can now build a Costco wedding registry. Yes, that Costco. The biggest members-only wholesaler in the world is now a bride’s best friend.
Costco just launched an all-occasions registry program that emphasizes gifts for weddings and new babies. The site's top picks for wedding registries range from bedding to cookware to small kitchen appliances.
This partnership with MyRegistry.com is an addition to the existing Weddings by Costco program, which acts as a full-service vendor for couples with memberships. That program offers food, flowers, invitations, and even rings—literally all of the essentials for the big day. Couples can also use the service to book their honeymoon travel with members-only perks.
Through the new service, wedding guests get in on the fun, choosing from items as high-end as standing mixers and furniture and as basic as bath towels and everyday flatware. One of the best things about signing up with the wholesaler: While a regular membership comes with a monthly fee, the registry service is completely free for couples and their guests.
Looking for cash gifts instead of household items? No problem. Couples can set up a fund free of charge, and guests can give cash through PayPal, with a minimal fee. Cash gifts can be anywhere between $1 and $1,000, but there is no limit to how many transactions each guest can make. Translation: make sure your uncle with the deep pockets knows you're accepting cash (wink, wink).
Costco also offers a baby registry, making it easy for friends and family to order bulk items like diapers, formula, and wipes. Or they can splurge on high-tech gifts like video monitors, baby food makers, and bottle warmers.
