Cory Booker and Rosario Dawson may soon be walking down the aisle—at least if the politician’s latest remarks about his relationship status are any indicator!
In an exclusive TMZ clip from RuPaul’s new series, The RuPaul Show, the talk show host, 58, pointed out that Booker, 50, who announced his bid for president in February 2019, would “be the first unmarried president in a long, long time,” should he be elected.
The New Jersey senator didn’t seem too phased by the question, however, hinting that his singledom may be changing soon. “The swearing in isn’t until the 21st of January 2021,” he replied. “You never know what might happen between now and then!”
Dawson was present in the audience when Booker made his comments.
“You are seeing someone,” RuPaul said. “And, it’s someone very famous …”
“It’s somebody very special,” Booker corrected, as the camera panned to the actress, 40, who looked touched by his sweet statement.
It’s not the first time he’s gushed over his significant other. Booker shared a similar sentiment with Ellen DeGeneres in March.
“She is just a deeply soulful person and has taught me a lot of lessons about love already, that sometimes, you show the greatest strength when you make yourself vulnerable,” he said at the time. “She… has this nurturing spirit that’s made me more courageous. … I’m very , very blessed to be with somebody that makes me a better person.”
When DeGeneres pressed about a potential White House wedding for the two lovebirds, Booker asked if she would preside over the affair, shaking hands on the possibility.
Dawson confessed to TMZ earlier that month that she and Booker were an item. “He’s a wonderful human being,” she told the outlet.
The actress was candid about whether or not she had marriage on the brain. “I have no idea," she said. "I am just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving.”
