He said yes! And just like that, this former Teen Wolf became a groom-to-be. Colton Haynes is engaged, after announcing that his boyfriend, Jeff Leatham, popped the question during a romantic vacay in Los Cabos, Mexico.
After first publicly announcing that he was gay in 2016 and revealing his relationship with Leatham on Valentine's Day of this year, Haynes is officially walking down the aisle with the celebrity floral designer. The couple had jetted south of the border this weekend to Rosewood's Las Ventanas al Paraíso resort in Los Cabos for an idyllic getaway. But sunset views and gorgeous, sandy beaches weren't the only romantic things on the itinerary.
Leatham managed to pull off an over-the-top proposal, popping the question to the Arrow and Teen Wolf actor on the beach with rose petals, candles, Cher, and—oh, yeah—a freakin' fireworks show.
According to the couple's Instagram stories, Leatham set the scene by lining the sandy walkway with rose petals and candles, leading Haynes to the center of the space, marked by a cluster of heart-shaped blooms.
Super romantic, right? Well, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Leatham had arranged for a large-screen protector over the beach, where Cher—yes, the Cher!—suddenly appeared with a personalized message for the couple. "I got you, babe," the songstress began. "All right, this is for you. You know what it is—you know what you're supposed to do now. And this is going to be the best thing ever, and you have to call me to tell me how it worked out, all right?"
"I SAID YES!!!" Haynes wrote an Instagram. Duh! Of course he did! No one dare defy Cher.
Cue the fireworks. (Because, apparently, this proposal wasn't already over the top enough!)
"Thank you @cher for the beautiful 'I got you babe' proposal lead in, you sounded incredible as always," Haynes later captioned a social-media snapshot of himself and his new fiancé embracing. "The most special night of my life."
Yep, we'd say that's accurate.
Shortly after Leatham popped the question, fans finally got a look at his beau's new bling. Haynes showed off his ring during a FaceTime call with best friend Ally Maki, and let's just say Leatham definitely has good taste. The new band features large square-cut diamonds throughout—very sparkly, we must say.
Maki captioned the snap with a touching tribute to her best pal. "So happy that you found someone who completes you and fills your heart in a way no one else can. Jeff, you are family to us now but have been from the start. Thank you for showing him what true love feels like and proving that it exists. You have truly changed his life!"
We couldn't be happier for the couple.
