Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal engagement has given us so much inspiration already: designers have created sketches of their vision for her dress, speculation has begun about the star-studded guest list, and one nail polish brand created a line of royal shades. Now, bartenders at Kimpton restaurants across the country have dreamed up five cocktails to celebrate the royal engagement!
All five cocktails have flavor profiles that will make you feel royal at first sip. We're still in the early weeks of the royal engagement, so it's unclear what the food and drink situation will be like at the televised celebration, but for now we'll be drinking these with our pinkies in the air, waiting for Meghan Markle to strut down the aisle toward her real-life prince!
The Princess and the Tea
"Suitable for a princess indeed! This royal engagement-inspired cocktail features crème de violette, created from two distinct flower breeds, including the (aptly named) luminous ‘Queen Charlotte’ blossom. Chamomile syrup gives a nod to the British love for tea, and when served in a gorgeous teacup and saucer, induces a royal vibe to all who sip."—Outlier in Seattle

- 0.75 oz. Chamomile Syrup
- 0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
- 2 dashes Bitter Truth Lemon Bitters
Shake and double strain into teacup. Garnish with loose chamomile tea.
"Inspired by the winter royal engagement, this hot toddy merges the two worlds of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. As a nod to the British pastime of sipping tea, earl grey tea is infused into a syrup and paired with High West Double Rye, a whiskey distilled in the US. Topped with steeped tea, the result is an amped up tea toddy with a light, herbaceous flavor profile."—Head Bartender Melissa Carroll at South Water Kitchen in Chicago
