Who says you have to wear white to your wedding? Brides need live by no rules! Just take a look at Christina Perri: The singer just tied the knot, marrying her love Paul Costabile this week in New York City. And did this famous bride don a traditional, frothy white ball gown for the occasion? Nope! Perri opted to embrace her personal style on her wedding day in a black—yes, black!—wedding dress.
Back in June of this year, the songstress revealed that she and her now-hubby planned to spend "a thousand years" together. (Sorry, we couldn't resist.) Perri took to Instagram to share their engagement announcement, writing, "Paul asked me to marry him tonight & I said yes!" alongside a photo of her new bridal bling. Featuring a round-cut diamond on an unique V-shaped band, Perri's engagement ring was almost as nontraditional as her wedding-day attire.
Similar to their to-be-wed announcement, Perri and Costabile, an on-air interviewer for The Hollywood Reporter, also revealed their nuptial news on the 'Gram. In a post on December 12, Perri shared a photo of herself and Costabile doing a Dirty Dancing -worthy dip. “On this day four years ago, we met," she captioned the sweet snapshot. "Today, WE GOT MARRIED!!!"
In their post-I do pic, Perri is wearing a black skirt and a crop top and jacket in a matching hue. She finished off her bridal style with black tights and combat boots. How badass is that?
Her new husband also shared some sweet sentiments on Instagram, writing, "Today I married my dream girl and best friend. Pretty sure I’m the proudest I’ve EVER been to be able to call the most bellissima person + woman I’ve ever known now my wife!!!"
From the looks of it, we're guessing that Perri and Costabile made it official in a small, civil ceremony. But fear not—there's a party on the way! "And for friends and fam wondering," the groom continued in his Instagram post. "Invites to an official shindig coming soon...now I’m going to go scream this news on rooftops across this town because I AM that guy."
With a baby on the way as well (the couple is currently expecting their first child together!), these two have plenty to celebrate!
