Christina Aguilera kicked off her latest tour last night, but her headline performance wasn't even the most exciting part of the evening (at least not according to us at Brides*!)*. At the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, the pop star helped a fan pop the question with an on-stage dream proposal in front of her 3,500 seat venue.
After singing her new hit, "Unless It's With You," the singer told the crowd, "I have a really special surprise that's happening tonight." Then, the pop star invited "two special people"—Ben Lear and Mike Kontomanolis—up on stage.
After getting onto the stage, Lear turned to Kontomanolis and said in front of the crowd (and Aguilera!), "I could not have imagined you could have a better moment than [with] this woman, who has inspired you throughout your whole life and has brought you so many things." The groom-to-be thanked Aguilera for "being an inspiration to not only everybody here, but to him," before getting down on one knee and pulling out an engagement ring. "You're kind, you're beautiful, you're loving," Lear told Kontomanolis. "Six years ago, you proposed to me and you gave me the opportunity to say yes. Tonight, in front of Christina, I'm going to ask you the same question."
After Kontomanolis accepted, Aguilera squealed, "Oh, my God! Congratulations!"
According too E! News, Aguilera congratulated the couple one last time, adding, "I wanted to share and dedicate this special moment to two people who have been tried and true through my life and supported me. So, I want to wish you guys the best of luck. Thank you so much! Mwah! Congratulations, you guys!"
After the newly engaged pair left the stage, Aguilera christened the rest of her concert a wedding reception! "Should we celebrate this? Should we celebrate the love?" she asked the crowd, as she began singing "Let There Be Love."
"All right, guys: Let's turn this into a wedding reception," said the singer. "Let's have some fun tonight!"
