Model, cookbook author, television personality, and Queen of Twitter, Chrissy Teigen obviously has a lot on her plate, but raising adorable babies is clearly a top priority. Teigen is already mom to one-year-old Luna, and often blesses the Internet with precious photos of her little one. But now Teigen is getting candid about expanding her family—through adoption—with husband John Legend. Can we volunteer as tribute?
Back in April of 2016, Teigen and Legend welcomed their daughter, Luna Simone Stephens, into the world after a long struggle to conceive. According to Teigen, her journey to pregnancy took several years, later revealing that underwent in vitro fertilization. Now, Teigen is revealing her desire to expand her fam. (TBH, we're not entirely sure that the world will be able to withstand any more adorable family moments from this cutesy clan, but bring 'em on!)
"I would definitely adopt or have foster children," Teigen shared in a recent Marie Claire interview, according to Entertainment Tonight. "But I loved being pregnant. Maybe I should be scared [of having PPD again], but I don't know. It couldn't be any worse than it was—could it?"
After giving birth to Luna, the Sports Illustrated model also struggled with postpartum depression. "Getting out of bed to get to set on time was painful," she revealed in an essay for Glamour magazine earlier this year. "My lower back throbbed; my shoulders—even my wrists—hurt. I didn’t have an appetite. I would go two days without a bite of food, and you know how big of a deal food is for me."
"Postpartum does not discriminate," Teigen continued. "I couldn’t control it. And that’s part of the reason it took me so long to speak up: I felt selfish, icky, and weird saying aloud that I’m struggling. Sometimes I still do."
But despite the hardships, it certainly sounds like Teigen and Legend are looking to grow their brood—whether through pregnancy or adoption.
Like we said, can we put ourselves in the running?
