The 2018 Grammy Awards were full of memorable moments, from Kesha’s emotional performance of “Praying” to Lil Uzi Vert’s hilariously low-key red carpet interview to just about everything Cardi B said and did. Toward the end of the ceremony, however, Chrissy Teigen pretty much stole the show when she revealed in an Instagram caption the sex of her and John Legend’s second child.
“Mama and her baby boy,” the model and cookbook author captioned one of several photos she posted from the Grammys red carpet—in what may be one of the sneakiest ways a celebrity has ever revealed the sex of their child. In the pic, Teigen, who is already mom to 21-month-old Luna Simone, wears a sparkly silver Yanina Couture gown and matching silver jewelry, and holds onto her baby bump.
Even before they announced that they were expecting another child, however, Teigen and Legend had all but confirmed that the baby would be a boy. The pair, who married in September 2013 and have been refreshingly open about their struggles with infertility and IVF treatments, previously confirmed that their only remaining embryo was male. “Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah,” Teigen tweeted in January 2017.
Since announcing their big news in November, Teigen has shared several photos of her growing bump and opened up about her pregnancy symptoms on social media. In December, for example, she turned to her nearly 10 million Twitter followers for advice on dealing with her pregnancy headaches—“I need witchcraft,” she claimed—and just last week, she shared a hilarious video on Snapchat of Legend helping her pull her leggings over her huge bump. Ah, true love!
