Anjana wore a "long, fair-trade hippie dress that was white with purple flowers embroidered down the entire hideous thing," she describes. "My husband picked out the dress and I wanted to make him happy, but it made me look like a country bumpkin! The wedding dress I always envisioned was Old Hollywood [style]. I still have the dress, but it just isn't me. I am a fashionista, not a barefoot hippie!"
While Donna paid extra to cut out the back of her head-to-toe beaded gown, "I really bought my dress based on price — it was about $600," she says. "The dress wasn't well made. And I made my own headpiece and veil. I was so concerned about saving money on our wedding, and I wish I hadn't skimped on the dress! I still cringe when I see pictures of me in the dress!"

Maigen is "5-feet-10-inches with a very hourglass figure: Small waist, big boobs, big butt," she describes. "I decided I wanted to feel lithe and lean and elegant on my wedding day, so I purchased a replica Pippa Middleton dress — the one she wore to William and Kate's wedding. I looked as elegant as three pigs fighting in a silk sack! Turns out the laws of physics still apply, even on your wedding day. I was heartbroken, because I felt really, really unattractive. The opposite of elegant. I ended up having to buy an off-the-rack dress three months out, and I sold the Pippa dress at a loss."
Kristen's "lace strapless dress looked vintage, and perfect for my rustic wedding!" she says. "I loved the fit, the train length, and the rustic lace details. [But] I jumped the gun and purchased it my very first day looking. I didn't want to let my bridesmaids and my mom down on the experience and feel like it was a waste of time. The cost was listed at $1,500, which was above my budget for a dress. Plus, cost aside, my main issue was that I had reservations about the dress' length to begin with. The dress was slightly too short in the front, which was a concern and would make me wear short-heeled shoes. Looking back at pictures now, I hate the length and should have followed my intuition."
