Umm, question: Is Celine Dion okay? Will her heart... go on? After seeing these photos of the singer looking as if she's about to have a legit heart attack during a recent meet and greet session, we're not exactly sure. But goodness gracious, are the snapshots hilarious! (We're sure she'll be okay — right?) The cause behind Dion's super shocked expression? A surprise proposal! One of the Dion's fans got down on one knee backstage at her residency show at Las Vegas, proposing to his girlfriend right in front of the superstar songstress — making her an accidental photobomber in the proposal pics!
boyfriend fiancé ever award officially goes to Nick Janevski, who popped the question to his girlfriend, Celine Dion fan Austin McMillan, alongside the singer herself. According to Cosmopolitan, Janevski — a former personal trainer for Dion's manager — spent months planning the proposal, from contacting Dion's team to ensuring that he and McMillan would be last in line at the meet and greet so they would be the only ones in the room (besides Celine, of course!).
"I was completely shocked," McMillan told the mag of the moment her sweetie dropped to one knee in front of her and the ballad queen. "I didn't even say yes [right away]. That's why her face was like that." LOL, poor Celine! (And the presumably nervous as hell groom...)
Dion went full-on bug-eyed and dropped-jaw in the absolutely unreal proposal pics that deserve to be framed for all eternity. "@celinedion is about the only person I wouldn't mind photobombing the pictures of our proposal," McMillian captioned one of the snapshots on Instagram. Amen, sister friend.
"We were taking a picture and all of a sudden he gets down on one knee. I froze. I didn't say anything, I just smiled," remembers the bride-to-be. "Two minutes went by and she got really nervous... She hid behind a curtain! She was like, 'This is embarrassing.' I just kissed him." Guess that's just the "Power of Love!" (Sorry — that's the last Celine reference, we promise.)
After Dion was really sure this bride-to-be said yes, she gave her blessing to couple. "It's kind of a blur but she was very sweet. She said that she wished us a long and happy marriage like she had with her husband," said McMillan. (Please excuse us while we cry.) "She complimented my ring and also asked if she could come to the wedding." And of course, "My Heart Will Go On" will probably make the wedding playlist, according to McMillan.
Now, if only they could get Dion to sing it, that would officially be the best wedding gift, EVER.
