Carrie Underwood's Husband Posted a Sweet Wedding Throwback

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have been married for nearly a decade as of yesterday, but to the former hockey player, it feels like less—a whole lot less!

“9 years feels like 9 minutes!!!!” he captioned a sweet Instagram photo of himself with the Grammy winner 36, on Wednesday, July 10. “Grateful to be on this journey with you @carrieunderwood!! Time sure does fly. “

The athlete, 39, also threw it back to the couple’s big day, sharing an adorable shot of his bride in his arms as they laughed together at a private joke on Instagram Stories.

“She used to think I was funny,” he teased.

Underwood, meanwhile, posted several photos from the couple’s anniversary, which they spent with their equestrian family members. “Spent my morning with my cowboy and our horses!” she captioned a gallery of her and Fisher astride their trusty steeds.

The lovebirds tied the knot in 2010—two years after meeting at one of her shows—in front of roughly 200 friends and family members.

The “Before He Cheats” singer was a vision in a Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown as she walked down the aisle before whooping it up with her and Fisher’s guests at the reception.

"There was a lot of eating [and] a lot of drinking," a waiter who worked the event told Us Weekly at the time. "It was a big party!"

The happy twosome also gave a statement at the time of their nuptials. “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us," they said.

In the nine years that have followed, the duo has shared plenty of love—and plenty of heartbreak. Underwood revealed to CBS Sunday Morning in September 2018 that she had suffered three miscarriages in two years following the birth of her first child, Isaiah, in 2015.

In January 2019, however, Underwood and Fisher welcomed their second child, Jacob.

Underwood confessed to People in June that it was Fisher who helped her through the ups and downs. “When I was dealing with everything, not just emotionally but hormonally, when you’re going on that roller coaster of pregnant, not pregnant, pregnant, not pregnant, I was probably not very easy to love, to be honest,” she told the magazine. “And to have somebody so even-keeled, he was my lifeline, keeping me grounded.”

She continued: “I feel like he is the person I was meant to be with. I had dated guys and kind of knew, like, ‘No.’ Nothing was ever really wrong, but nothing was really right either. With him, it was like a good partnership. It was an easy relationship to be in.”
