Most of us wouldn't dare drop a wedding-themed music video two days after the royal wedding, but most of us aren't Cardi B. On Monday, amid all the residual Meghan Markle–Prince Harry hubbub, the rapper debuted her music video for "Be Careful," and before the very morbid twist that takes place halfway through, it's chock-full of wedding #inspo.
The video begins with a red-haired angel-of-death–looking person walking through the middle of nowhere, brandishing a large white cross (foreshadowing, anyone?). Then, in a cute nod to Kill Bill, we cut to a small church in the middle of the sunny desert. As the wedding guests head to their seats, we get our first look at Cardi B as a bride, and she looks absolutely stunning while she raps, "I wanna get married, like the Currys, Steph and Ayesha sh*t." For her fictional wedding, the rapper has chosen a gorgeous gown with silver detailing on the sweetheart bodice and a huge, pouffy tulle skirt reminiscent of her (extremely wedding-appropriate) all-white Ashi Studio Grammy Awards dress. She completes the look with sleek platinum-blonde locks, cascading diamanté chokers with matching statement earrings, a light pink lip, and opalescent eyeshadow.
Unfortunately, the track is all about how the groom is completely and utterly undeserving of this look, and Cardi B continues to rap about all his shortcomings (liking other women's pictures, not returning texts, cheating on her with women, and having double standards) at the altar. "Be careful with me," she warns, "my heart is like a package with a fragile label on it." But alas, the groom just doesn't listen, and things do not end well for him.
Thankfully, it's just a music video, and the real-life Cardi has expressed her excitement for her own future wedding, to fiancé Offset, revealing to the New York Post that she wants a "traditional, big, and white" wedding gown that costs at least $50,000 and is "extravagant." If she looks this good at her make-believe wedding, we can't wait to see the real thing.
