People Think Cara Delevingne And Ashley Benson Are Engaged

Although Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson just made their relationship public a few weeks ago, they've been dating for a full year—and now, people think they've taken the next step in their high-profile romance with a secret engagement. Both celebrities were spotted wearing matching bands on their ring fingers while vacationing in Saint Tropez, leading Twitter to have a full meltdown.

While the news hasn't been confirmed—People reached out to both of their reps, who did not respond to the rumors—the celebration has already started on social media. "Cara delevingne & Ashley Benson are officially ENGAGED," one person tweeted. "Can you hear me crying!?!?!?" Other messages of congratulations flooded in.

The engagement buzz comes just after the couple confirmed that they were dating. They had been spotted together since summer 2018, but they had never spoken publicly about their status. Delevingne changed all that in June by posting an Instagram video clip from Her Smell, a new movie the two of them are in together, that shows them kissing. She captioned it "Pride," and later explained to E! News why it was important to her to share it.

“I don’t know because it is Pride, it’s been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don’t know,” she said “It’s been just about our one-year anniversary so, why not?”

She had also referenced Benson when the Trevor Project gave her the Hero Award for her work with LGBTQ youth. In her speech, she didn't use her girlfriend's name directly, but spoke about what an important influence she was.

“I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are,” she said. “She’s one of the people who help me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought.”

The couple recently attended Zoe Kravitz's wedding together; they were spotted at both the chic rehearsal dinner in Paris and the full event the next day. If they did get engaged, that wedding provided a ton of edgy bridal inspiration they can use later.
