Brody Jenner happily tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter in a dreamy wedding in Indonesia last weekend, but he admitted he’s a bit sad that some people were not there to see it. Before the wedding, reports circulated that Caitlyn Jenner would not make the trip to Nihi Sumba Island in Bali to witness her son tie the knot, and it seems that she did in fact end up skipping the big day. The former Hills star says he was hurt by Caitlyn’s absence. “It was a big disappointment,” Brody, 34, told People.
“Especially considering that she had known about the wedding for a year.”
Caitlyn was reportedly slated to attend her son’s wedding, but last-minute work commitments prevented her from taking the trip. Still, Brody says her absence wasn’t completely unexpected. “I wasn’t surprised [that she didn’t come],” he said. “I’m pretty used to her doing that sort of thing.” Two other famous family members also missed the wedding: his half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. “My two little sisters, we never even heard from them. They never even RSVP’d I don’t think,” Brody said before the big day.
“We sent them an invite, but we just never heard anything back,” Brody continued. “Well, they’ll be missed. I would have loved to have had them there.”
To make up for her absence, Caitlyn is reportedly throwing her son and new daughter-in-law a party when they return to Los Angeles. And in spite of the family drama, Brody is very much loving the newlywed life. “It feels awesome,” he told People. “I’m the luckiest man on earth to have Kaitlynn by my side.”
