When Brazilian natives Dona and Seu Russo tied the knot in 1957, they didn't have any wedding photos to capture the cake baked by their aunt or the bride's wedding dress sewn by her godmother. But thanks to the help of São Paulo Fotografia, the couple was able to immortalize their wedding day—60 years later.
Vivian and Dávid Balatonfüredi from São Paulo Fotografia worked with the couple to recreate their magical wedding day from six decades ago, making sure to capture every romantic exchange on camera. The Russos took advantage of the opportunity to celebrate their everlasting love and renewed their vows, surrounded by their nine children, 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to the photographers, a wedding dress designer, local florist, and a tailor helped guarantee that every aspect of the shoot was true to their original wedding, complete with an outdoor ceremony with vintage details.
Fernanda Caetano, the celebrant who helped the couple renew their vows, posted their sweet story to her Instagram page.
"The nature of love and its details," Caetano wrote in Portuguese. "It was 1957 when they started writing this story. His grandfather made the yard, the aunt made the cake, the godmother sewed the dress. It was the day of the wedding of the Rosary and the Russian boy. The family gathered to celebrate. In their hearts FAITH to build a good life together. They had no idea that they would be parents and 9 children, 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and that they would be seeing all this 60 years later. Everything kept in the memory, however ... they had no [wedding photos] to show."
"A mini wedding prepared with the excellence and complicity of all those involved in HOPE to draw a rescue from the moment it all began and this achievement deserved sensitive and emotional hands that know the value of that moment and participate with commitment of the YES of so many couples who choose to start," she added.
