The actress shared the good news on social media. On Instagram, she posted a romantic rooftop photo of her and her new husband with the caption, “Mr. & Mrs. Karp. Established 11/04/2018.” And on Twitter, she shared a similar shot writing, “That's Mrs. Karp to you,” alongside a heart emoji.
Based on the wedding photos, taken by Jillian McQuerrey, the bride wore a short-sleeve lace wedding dress featuring an illusion neckline, and used Laurie Heaps and Julie Cuomo for her glam. The groom donned a "something blue" suit and a wildflower boutonniere. Karp also shared on Instagram just how excited he was about finally tying the knot. “Today I married my soulmate,” he wrote alongside a third wedding photo. “We were surrounded by family and friends, and it was the best day of my life. I also ate 3 donuts after dinner. Unrelated. @daniellefishel, I love you so much and thank you for giving me this smile.”
Karp also shared his new relationship status with his Twitter followers. “Big life moment happened on Sunday,” he wrote, sharing the same photo. “I am beyond thankful to have this angel by my side for the rest of our lives. @daniellefishel now has both my (heart emoji) and my last name."
Lucky for Fishel, her Boy Meets World family was by her side on her big day. Ben Savage, Topanga's former on-screen love Cory Matthews, was in attendance as well as Will Friedle who played her brother-in-law Eric Matthews. Friedle tried to snap a photo with his on-screen brother at the wedding, but the moment was photo bombed by none other than John Mayer, another celebrity guest. "When you try to take a cool “Reservoir Dogs” kind of shot with your TV brother but are photobombed by John Mayer," Friedle wrote on Instagram. "Thanks John! My favorite picture of an amazing night at Danielle and Jensen Karp’s wedding! We love you guys!"
Mayer wasn't only a guest, but a performer! He sang a cover of Beyoncé's "XO" for the couple's first dance. Fishel shared a snippet of the special moment on Instagram, filmed by Atomic Tangerine Film Co. "Jensen brought many new and wonderful friends into my life and the friendship of @johnmayer is at the top of the list," she said. "His immense talent is only overshadowed by his humor, his heart, his sincerity, his loyalty, his candor, and his generous spirit. We are beyond grateful and thrilled that he was not only a groomsman but agreed to sing our first dance song. I'm obsessed with his cover of this song (XO by @beyoncé) and he played it for us live at the Forum last year simply because I told him how much I loved it. Thank you, John, for all of it."
With only seven months to plan—the pair were engaged in March of this year—the newlyweds enlisted the help of professional planner Lisa Gaskarth from Union3 Event Productions for the occasion.
Actress Angela Trimbur—who has appeared in shows like The Good Place and New Girl —gave us a look inside Fishel and Karp’s wedding via Instagram. “I love weddings and consider attending one a very special honor!!!!” Trimbur wrote sharing a photo of her and her date. “Congrats @daniellefishel & @jensenclan88 everything was thoughtfully spesh, had a very Autumn feel to it as well, rare for L.A hearts.”
Trimbur shared more on her Instagram story of the couple's decor. It seemed to consist of framed photos of the pair, vibrant greenery, and an all important doughnut bar. Fishel and Karp also provided some fun couple facts with their guests, via cocktail napkins, which Trimbur shared:
“1. They first met in '95 at Calabasas High School but were only acquaintances. 2. They both like the thermostat set to 68 degrees. 3. Jerry Springer and Ricki Lake were technically present for their engagement. 4. Jensen has a fish tattoo to represent both of their aquatic last names. 5. They have a dog named Brunch and a cat named Bill. Brunch's nickname is Bubalah and Bill's is Fat Panther. 6. Pringles and Trolli sent them product after Danielle and Jensen commented on their social media pages. 7. They recently bought a home together, only blocks from where they were raised. 8. Their first major vacation together was to Thailand. They didn't like it there. Don't tell anyone."
It’s clear this couple added a personal touch to their wedding day. Maybe Fishel’s pal Hailey Baldwin will take a cue from her. (Baldwin is the host of Drop the Mic, which Fishel’s now-husband produces.) Their connection sparked an unlikely friendship and the exchange of wedding ideas. Now that Fishel’s already been through it she will hopefully have lots of advice for the young couple.
