No, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's newborn daughter's name is not Violet. According to E! News the new parents chose a common name for their little one — a popular little boy's name at that. The family's bundle of joy is reportedly named James.
A little surprising, yes, but not really when you really think about it. Both Blake and Ryan have pretty androgynous names: Blake is a traditionally male name, while Ryan is becoming an increasingly popular moniker for girls. And let's not forget, when Prince George was just a bun in Duchess Catherine's oven, plenty of sources speculated that James was in the running for the little royal (and if the royals approve the name, it has to be a good one, right?).

The couple hasn't confirmed the news yet, but Reynolds has completely denied the previous reports that his daughter's name was Violet. "No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that but I don't know where that came from," he told USA Today.
The two stars have been extra secretive about what they're choosing to call their daughter. The Lively-Reynolds clan reportedly all posed naked for Allure's naked issue — including little James! But one source told Us Weekly, that even once the curtains up, and their baby came out, Blake and Ryan called her "the baby." "After Blake took some fashion shots, everyone was kicked out of the room and a curtain went up," the insider said. "Then they posed nude holding the baby... They called her 'the baby.'"
One thing that has been confirmed, though, is how much the new dad loves his little girl. During an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman he said: "I used to say to [Blake], 'I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you.' I would say that to my wife," he explained. "And the second I looked in that baby's eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby," he joked.
