Until last weekend, in the ongoing battle of wits between Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Reynolds was the reigning champ. But on Sunday, Lively shared a photo of the duo on the red carpet at the premiere of their friends Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's new movie, A Quiet Place, and captioned the pic with an absolutely savage takedown of her husband. Though Lively and Reynolds appear to be gazing lovingly at each other in the photo, Lively joked in the caption that there's something in the shot that she loves just a little bit more. "If there's one thing I'm infinitely proud of in this picture, it's the incredible hair styling that I did on myself," she wrote, referring to the admittedly gorgeous twisted ponytail she sported at the premiere.
Of course, Reynolds, 41, wasn't about to sit back and let Lively, 30, steal his title as the King of the Trolls without a fight. As Insta-tracking account Comments By Celebs noted, the actor commented, "I was so happy back then." (For the record, the photo, in which Reynolds is beaming from ear to ear, was taken just last week.)
The playful back-and-forth took place just a week after Reynolds's last joking jab at his wife. In response to a headline stating that he and Lively were "struggling" to spend time together, Reynolds tweeted, "I wish. I could use a little 'me time'." A few days later, the Deadpool star dragged his own mother into the troll war: After a news outlet reported that Reynolds and Lively had been joined by Reynolds's mom at the A Quiet Place premiere just a few days after his handy shutdown of those split rumors, Reynolds tweeted back, "We're never splitting. She'll always be my mom. No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends."
