Solange Knowles married her longtime love of five years, Alan Ferguson, in New Orleans this past weekend. And while the ultra-chic affair's theme was all-white everything, family also played an important role in the big day.
Aside from the adorable mother-son dance courtesy of Solange and 10-year-old Julez, the bride's sister Beyoncé and husband Jay Z (who, if you may recall, had some issues with Solange in one now infamous elevator) also had the time of their lives. "Beyoncé was just there as a supportive sister and didn't take any of the spotlight," a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. "Jay was taking care of Blue Ivy while Beyoncé was celebrating with her family and didn't look like they had a worry in the world." (Bey also helped with Solange's hair — see the Instagram photo above)!
The once contentious trio even made light of their very public spat last spring: After the formal reception, all 100 guests loaded onto three party buses and one of the vehicles was named "Boom Boom Room," the posh NYC club belonging to the Standard Hotel in NYC where all of the drama between these three happened post-Met Gala this year.
Bey and Jay also seemed un-phased from the many divorce rumors that followed that publicized argument. "Beyoncé and Jay Z were totally into it and so affectionate," the source continued. "They both kept putting their hands on each other's butts and they were dancing up a storm. Beyoncé and Jay Z were so friendly to everyone and very gracious. They seemed so genuinely happy. They were having the best night."
After dinner and a dance party through the streets of NOLA, guests headed to the New Orleans Museum of Art for a second reception.
As if it already didn't sound like the most perfect night, Solange summed up her feelings as follows:
Congrats to the happy couple and family!
