Why can't these two crazy kids just learn to work things out?! It's been well over a year since we had to tell one of our favorite celebrity couples to R.I.P. when Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck called it quits in June of 2015. But while Bennifer 2.0 is no more — like most of those famous couple monikers of the early aughts ('twas simpler times...) — it's obvious that there's no shortage of love between Garner and Affleck, the latter of whom recently couldn't help but express it.
Just this past summer, Garner got candid when it came to her new relationship with her ex-husband. Appearing on the Today show, the actress explained that despite all the reconciliation rumors swirling around her and her former sweetie, no, they're not back together romantically, but are still united when it comes to raising their kids, Violet, 11, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.
"We are definitely a modern family," Garner explained to Today's Natalie Morales, stating that her and Affleck are now "great friends." But earlier this week, Affleck was the one sprouting affection for his ex during his highly anticipated Times Talk.
On Monday, December 12, the Live By Night actor sat down with New York Times journalist Chip McGrath to chat about his multitude of successes. But despite those Oscars and awards littering his shelves, Affleck claims the greatest of these accomplishments are the three children he shares with Garner.
"In my career or otherwise, it is the birth of my children," he told the crowd without hesitation. "The entrance of my children into the world." And, further expressing his love for his former bride, Affleck also couldn't help but give the sweetest of shout-outs to Garner, referring to her as the "world's greatest mom."
"It's a joy to hang out with them," Affleck said of his family. "I think the meaning of life is to make good people."
*Quietly cheering* Bennifer! Bennifer!
