In October of last year, former first daughter Barbara Bush married her partner, the screenwriter Craig Coyne, in an intimate ceremony with a small group of her family members present. The event was simple and low-key, held at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, and had been organized as an opportunity for Barbara to share a moment with her grandfather, George H. Bush, who passed away just a month later.
"They wanted to get married here because my grandfather is here," Barbara's sister Jenna Bush Hager told Today at the time. "It was a very secret wedding, a little bit like my elusive sister. But also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was beautiful."
Following the family affair, People reports that Barbara and her husband recently hosted a bigger second wedding in Texas, this time for a larger group of family and friends. Reportedly there were more than 100 people on the guest list, which included actress Megan Ferguson and T Magazine editor Isabel Wilkinson. The wedding seems to have been held at the family’s 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford.
“Barbara and [husband] Craig did have another wedding. They wanted to make sure her grandfather got to be there so they kept their first wedding small and intimate," a source told People, adding that "this party was a chance for them to celebrate with all their friends and family as well.”
Barbara hasn't shared photos yet, but a few Instagram shots from attendees show that the event was slightly more laid-back than the first wedding. While Barbara had gone for a classic Vera Wang gown for the first ceremony, a photo with Ferguson shows she went a more casual route with a fringed white dress. Musician Taylor Pace and designer Prabal Gurung also shared some images and words for Barbara.
