President Trump's first days in office have been tumultuous, and while our friends over at Condé Nast Traveler have been fielding endless news reports about everything from travel bans to cabinet picks in the U.S., we're currently obsessing over Barack and Michelle Obama's seemingly permanent vacation — or, as we like to call it over here at BRIDES, a second honeymoon.
The former President and First Lady have been vacationing in the British Virgin Islands at Richard Branson's private resort, and all evidence suggests that the couple is really enjoying their much-deserved break. Photos of both Barack and Michelle traipsing along the picturesque Caribbean beaches (while good-naturedly waving to onlookers) and even hanging out with billionaire Branson himself have surfaced online, providing a tiny glimpse into how life post-presidency is going for them. The verdict: They're relaxed. So relaxed, in fact, that Barack has traded in his presidential suits for an ultra chill backwards baseball cap and flip flops.
His easygoing vibes are making the fact that his term is over all too real for many social media users, leading some to speculate that Barack's cool-guy transformation is a sure sign that he's mentally checked out from politics and all the drama that comes with them. Of course, the internet has taken to Twitter to declare how much they miss the former First Family and congratulate them on their well-earned time off.
And no wonder they're relaxed. Branson's resort on Necker Island features 74-acres of tropical paradise and has played host to many a celebrity guest. Plus, with Barack looking more loosened up than he has in years, we don't blame the former POTUS and FLOTUS for taking their sweet time in returning to the States.
OK, but seriously, guys, when are you coming home?
