Ever since hearing that this upcoming season of The Bachelorette will star two leading ladies — Chris Soules's second runner-up Kaitlyn Bristowe and first-impression rose recipient Britt Nilsson — our jaws dropped twice. First, because, there's two Bachelorettes (duh). Then, again when we laid our eyes on the first promotional shots of the franchise's newest stars.
People has an exclusive first look at the photos. In the first picture, Kaitlyn, the hilarious Canadian dancer, absolutely glistens in a silver sparkling sheath with her darker brunette waves. Britt, on-other-hand, went for a full-on princess look in a grey tulle number. Both outfits obviously incorporate the commensurate bundle of roses.
The Bachelorette hopefuls are going along with what seems to be the running theme for the ABC hit's upcoming season: "Fifty Shades of Cray." In a teaser trailer released recently, that tagline accompanied some of the wacky entrances the 25 men in waiting and then the big announcement that only one Bachelorette will move on from the first rose ceremony.
Kaitlyn and Britt both admitted when the announcement came that they'll be taking the lead the situation isn't exactly what they were hoping for. Back in March Kaitlyn admitted that the arrangement is, "definitely not ideal." Regardless, it's a "great opportunity," and "if the outcome is me meeting the guy I spend the rest of my life with, then it's all worth it," she told People.
Britt, too, admitted that the new format brought up insecurities. "Part of me is scared, but the more I think about it, [I realize] it's just going to be what it's going to be," she told People a few months back. "If Kaitlyn's husband is in that group of men, it's going to work out for her, and I'll go home and I'll have to be okay with that. But I'm excited!"
We can't wait to see how this season of The Bachelorette unfolds when it premieres on Monday, May 18!
