It didn't take a reality show for Juan Pablo Galavis to find love. During Monday night's finale of The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison interrupted Rachel Lindsay's final rose ceremony to drop some major news on Bachelor Nation: Former Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis and Venezuelan model and TV host Osmariel Villalobos recently tied the knot in Miami.
Galavis and Villalobos had an intimate ceremony, inviting just close friends and family. Their Miami wedding was only for documentation, says a source, and the two are having another ceremony back in Venezuela later this year. Villalobos posted a photo to Instagram with a Spanish caption reading, “THANKS to so many people who worked with me in SECRET to make this dream come true. I’m going to start with my LOVED AND ADORED @alejandrofajardovnzla and all his team.”
The now-newlyweds have been dating since 2016, after meeting through a mutual friend. The friend showed Galavis a picture of Villalobos, sparking his interest in the model. “I asked, ‘Who’s that girl? She’s cute,’" Galavis said in an interview with People last year. “He told me, ‘If you meet her in real life, you’ll die. She’s great!’”
The former semiprofessional soccer player got his start in the world of reality TV as a contestant on Season 9 of The Bachelorette, where he briefly dated Desiree Hartsock but was eliminated halfway through the season. He then went on to star the as the Bachelor of season 18 in 2014, where he chose Nikki Ferrell as his finalist (but never ended up proposing). Ferrell and Galavis lasted only a few months following the season finale.
It just goes to show that if your own reality TV series doesn't work out, you still have a chance!
