Despite the drama that occurred during this season of Bachelor in Paradise, one particular couple found their happily ever after: Taylor Nolan and Derek Peth. So, what are the details on the sparkler, you ask? Well, while proposing to the mental health counselor on the season finale, Peth gave his now-fiancé a stunning 2-carat diamond ring from, you guessed it, Neil Lane. The jewelry designer offered some details on creating the band during an interview with People.
“I did not actually meet with Derek, so it was important for me to better understand him and his personality – and of course Taylor’s as well,” Lane told the entertainment source. “What I gathered was that he was more traditional yet he also liked the idea of a romantic ring.”
During the final stretch, Peth had to choose between two different bands: a rose gold ring featuring small diamond details, and a classic platinum ring set with a center round diamond and accented by two trapezoid and two tapered baguette-cut diamonds. Peth went with the latter. “He decided it best suited Taylor,” the designer continued. “And Derek really liked that it felt more traditional and classic, but still had a mid-century vibe. She loved it!"
The designer's Instagram offered an up-close shot of the stunner, with a video sweetly captioned, "Congratulations [Derek Peth] and [Taylor Nolan]! We are so happy to have been a part of your happily ever after. Wishing you two the love story you deserve."
In a separate interview with People, the couple dished on their lives post-engagement, with Peth revealing the moment he knew their love was real. "Paradise was amazing, I definitely had started to fall in love with Taylor while we were there but once I went to Seattle and saw her friends and family, it definitely was seeing her heart connect with her loved ones and her animals," he said. "There was one morning where we were drinking coffee on the porch looking at Mt. Rainier and reflecting and I was dang, I love this girl."
