I love the idea of staging a fashion-forward bridal portrait shoot before or after your wedding day. When else will you be able to act like a supermodel and get away with it (unless you're Tyra, of course!)? I particularly love this photo from Atlanta-based Jessica Purvis Photography. The bride in this photography decided that she didn't take enough portraits on her wedding day, so she decided to do a more editorial-style shoot the day after. Instead of wearing her own wedding dress, she wore her mother's and created a retro look with a birdcage veil and red lips.
As for the setting, Jessica says: "I suggested a very rustic field with an old barn in the background for its vintage feel. The environment's worn texture was a stunning contrast to her timeless beauty and vintage dress and veil."
According to Jessica, more and more brides are staging these fashion shoots. "Brides want their pictures to look like they just stepped off a movie set or just left a fashion shoot," she says. And this shot certainly does. For more information on Jessica's amazing work, visit her website.—Kim Forrest, Editor, Brides Atlanta Magazine
