It’s only been two months since Bachelor In Paradise Couple Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon got engaged, but the reality stars are already feeling the stress of wedding planning.
The couple talked to Entertainment Tonight at Kershaw’s Challenge 6th Annual PingPong4Purpose on Thursday where they revealed they had some sticker shock when it comes to the cost of a wedding.
"It is crazy,” Iaconetti said. “It’s more stressful than we thought.”
Haibon added, “It’s a little surreal. It’s a little scary when you start to see the prices. You go wedding shopping and venue shopping and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, this is real and this is something we’re going to have to pay for,' so it’s a little nerve wracking and super exciting.”
With the average wedding cost ringing in between $26,000 and $28,000, it’s fair that Haibon and Iaconetti are a little taken back, but hopefully they can still have fun planning the wedding of their dreams. Earlier this year the couple told Good Morning America they would like to tie the knot next summer in the groom’s home state of Rhode Island. This bride-to-be has also already been wedding dress shopping. She chronicled her trip to Kleinfeld on social media and said she will definitely wear a ball gown.
One big part of their wedding that has yet to be decided is if their big day will be televised. Soon after their engagement, Iaconetti talked about the possibility of a TV wedding on Ben Higgins’s "Almost Famous" podcast. “I think we’re both down for [a televised wedding], but our caveat is that we want as many guests as we want and we don’t want to have to be limited to that,” she said. “So if we couldn’t have it the way we imagined, that’s the only reason we wouldn’t do it.”
Unfortunately, the Bachelor Nation favorites told ET the offer hasn’t come in yet. "We wish we could do it on television, but, ya know, we haven’t really had the offer, so we’re doing it on our own right now,” Iaconetti mentioned.
One thing fans can bank on seeing is Haibon getting down on one knee—the proposal will air on this current season of Bachelor In Paradise. Haibon popped the question during filming on the beach in Mexico, which the groom recalls as a “very long winded” proposal.
"I hope I don’t sound like an idiot,” Haibon said, but his fiancé had his back.
Iaconetti insisted, "He doesn’t, he sounds great!"
