Exciting news for newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross: They're having a girl!
The honeymooners excitedly told People their baby's gender after announcing that Ashlee is pregnant in December — only a few months after their August nuptials and romantic honeymoon in Bali! While some people enjoy the surprise of waiting to find out their baby's sex, Simpson told People she was anxious from the start to find out whether she was having a boy or girl. "I like to know — I want to do the nursery," she said.
Simpson fondly recalled the day she found out about baby number two (and Ross's first child!), it was Thanksgiving, which she describes as a "a cute, fun day."
As for six-year-old Bronx, Simpson's son with ex husband Pete Wentz, the star was very open with him from the start, and he couldn't be more excited about having a new little sister!
"I told him pretty early on," Simpson says of letting Bronx know about his little sibling. "And he wanted to have a sister, so he's really excited! He's got a little brother. Now he's going to have a little sister!" In case you missed it: Simpson is referring to her ex's 5-month-old son with longtime girlfriend Meagan Camper.
Simpson can't wait to start her new family with brand-new hubby Evan Ross. "I'm just excited for the new addition," she says.
It's been a whirlwind year for Ashlee and Evan, and we're sure with sister Jessica's two little ones as cousin, this newly formed family is about to get that much happier (and bigger!).
