Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably gotten wind of the unexpected Season 22 finale of The Bachelor. Warning: if you're not caught up, major spoilers lie ahead. In a dramatic turn of events and five hours' worth of TV time, the season's star, Arie Luyendyk Jr., originally proposed to contestant Becca Kufrin in Peru before awkwardly ending things at the end of Monday's episode. Then, as if the popular reality TV show needed any more explosive action, Arie awed Bachelor Nation by proposing to the season's runner-up, Lauren Burnham, on last night's The Bachelor: After the Final Rose. It doesn't get much juicier (or messier) than two finale proposals.

While the show's host, Chris Harrison, wrapped up Arie's interview during After the Final Rose, the 36-year-old race-car driver turned loathed reality TV star considered this an opportune time to get down on one knee.

"I’ve made some bad decisions, but the best decision was running back to you," he told Lauren. "I can’t imagine a life without you.... I truly believe you are my soulmate. I’m ready to face this life with you and all that comes with it, the good and the bad. I love you so much. I wanted to do this in front of everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago. Lauren Elizabeth Burnham, will you marry me?" Spoiler alert: She said yes!

Despite Bachelor Nation fearing that Arie proposed to Lauren with the recycled ring he took back from Becca, Lauren is now (thankfully) rocking a different sparkler. Arie popped the question to his current fiancée with a 3.6 carat cushion-cut diamond ring with a diamond halo, according to Us Weekly.

As for the OG engagement ring, Arie proposed to Becca with a Neil Lane (shocking) bauble that Us Weekly estimates cost a whopping $80,000. While we're unsure of the fate of this sparkler after Arie called off the engagement, the ring featured an almost-four-carat diamond with an oval cut.

Arie also opened up about his original proposal to Becca on After the Final Rose, giving angry fans somewhat of an insight into his decision making. "I went with my head, and I shut down those feelings for Lauren. The relationship with Becca was great, but my heart wasn’t with her," he said. Doesn't seem like the ideal situation for popping the question, if you ask us.

As per usual, the internet had a field day with Arie dumping the season's finalist for the runner-up, and some fans have even gone so far as to send Becca wine money via Venmo to offer their condolences. But, it appears Becca will have her own time to shine and one-up her former reality TV flame: The 27-year-old was announced as the star of next season's Bachelorette and got to meet a few of her potential suitors. Nothing says getting over your ex better than having 25+ men pining for your love.

While this season has made Arie Luyendyk Jr. the most hated Bachelor of all time, he seems to be moving full steam ahead with his relationship with Lauren. The newly betrothed pair revealed they plan to travel and live in Arizona together. Time will tell if this duo will walk down the aisle, but we wish them the best of luck.
