JanuLARIE is here! The Bachelor's Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham tied the knot at the Haiku Mill in Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday, January 12, in front of family and close friends in a nontelevised ceremony.
“Ever since we’ve gotten together, we wanted to fast-forward to this day,” the race car driver told Us Weekly. “It’s been a year. That’s kind of crazy ‘cause I remember a year ago we were doing ‘happy couples [weekend on The Bachelor]’ and talking about getting married and wanting to do that, even last year, so it’s awesome that the day is finally here.”
For the big day, the bride wore a custom-made ethereal style gown by Hayley Paige, while the groom donned a classic black tuxedo. The couple's ceremony featured a tropical vibe that was filled with greenery from floor to ceiling.
Naturally, the couple exchanged Neil Lane wedding bands during their ceremony. “Lauren’s wedding band is a handmade platinum eternity band set with almost 35 French cut diamonds down the center and surrounded on all three sides with over 200 smaller round diamonds," the jeweler told Us Weekly The total weight of all the diamonds is about 3.9 carats."
The groom's band had a much less flashy feel. “Arie has a rose gold band fused with platinum,” Lane said.
In March of 2018, the groom popped the question to Burnham with a Neil Lane engagement ring, that according to Us Weekly is “just over 3.6 carats and cushion cut with a center stone surrounded by a diamond halo.”
The couple met during the 22nd season of The Bachelor in 2017. Luyendyk originally proposed to Becca Kufrin during the season finale but later retracted his proposal after deciding he was still in love with Burnham. Luyendyk and Burnham later got engaged during the live After the Final Rose special in March.
“I made some bad decisions but the best decision was running back to you,” the reality star said before he got down on one knee. “I truly believe are my soul mate. I’m ready to face this life with you and all that comes with it. I love you so much. I wanted to do this in front of everyone because I want to show you that I should have done this a long time ago.”
The two currently live in Phoenix and are expecting their first child, a girl, which they announced in November.
“We are so excited,” the former Bachelor told Us at the time. “It’s going to be a whole new chapter in our lives.”
