When Arianna Casadei, the daughter of shoe designer Cesare Casadei, got married earlier this summer, her wedding heels were the stuff of dreams. No surprise there, though: Casadei shoes have been worn by stars like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Ciara. So naturally, the creative director of the luxury footwear brand (and father of the bride) gave his daughter a one-of-kind wedding gift—custom wedding shoes.
As told to Vogue, the bride and her husband Nicolò celebrated their nuptials in San Mauro Pascoli, Italy, and from the start, the bride knew exactly what her gown would look like. "From the very beginning, I always dreamed about getting married in Elie Saab... At first, I didn't want to try on the dress I ended up picking. It was 'so me,' and I wanted something different for such an important occasion. But my dad really wanted to see it on, and once I [put it on], it was love at first sight," Arianna told Vogue of her strapless gown.
After the bride added to her wedding day look with jewelry from her aunts, there was one last finishing touch. On the big day, her father surprised her with a pair of jeweled metallic sandals and left his daughter the most heart-warming note on the sole. "Alla mia cucciola," he wrote, which in English reads, "To my darling girl." BRB, moving custom wedding shoes to the top of our must-have list...
“The day of the wedding, I wasn’t just wearing a pair of shoes,” Arianna said. “[I was wearing] the expression of love and passion that links us all to the business and to each other, as well. It was special, to say the least!”
