Question Ariana Grande's engagement and she'll become a "Dangerous Woman." The pop star, 25, is not tolerating online hate for her whirlwind romance, and she's sticking up for Justin Bieber's relationship too.
Both Grande and Bieber reportedly got engaged to their S.O.s (Pete Davidson and Hailey Baldwin, respectively) after just weeks of dating, and they have more in common than just being apparent romantics: Both musicians are managed by publicist Scooter Braun. Fans were quick to point out this similarity. One even wrote in a tweet on Sunday, “First Ariana get engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin the devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder,” insinuating that the engagements might be publicity stunts arranged by their manager.
But Grande didn't let that comment slide. According to People, she wrote back to the fan in a since-deleted tweet that read, "You do realize we are human being who love and have lives... right? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first n foremost [about] our health and happiness?”
The "No Tears Left To Cry" singer added, “Love is lit. S–t happens. I hope to god it happens to you too. U deserve it."
She responded to another fan's tweet shortly after, again defending Braun. “He’s wonderful and very human. Always puts his artists’ health and happiness first," she wrote.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson reportedly got engaged in early June, just weeks after going public with their relationship. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin apparently took a page from the couple's playbook in their own love lives, with news that Bieber popped the question—less than a month after rekindling their romance—breaking this past weekend. Bieber and Baldwin previously dated on and off in the past few years, but got serious after the "Love Yourself" singer cut ties with his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
