Today's WWD shared some exciting news for ethereal, downtown-loving, vintage-inspired dress-wearing brides. Anthropologie will be coming out with a line of wedding dresses developed by their design team and guest designers to be sold online and then in stores. The article says that the dresses will be "heirlooms, to be passed on from one generation to the next," but Anthropologie's plunge into the bridal world won't stop at wedding dresses. Fashions for bridesmaids as well as jewelry, shoes and other accessories will also be available. Outside of fashion, invitations, bridal registry gifts, flowers, travel, and wedding planning services are all possibilities to be included in the new brand as well.
This announcement comes off the heels of The Limited's launch into bridal. The mall store will be debuting a line wedding dresses this June for under $300. J. Crew already has made a name for themself in the bridal fashion industry, creating affordable yet fashion-forward gowns over the past few years.
