Ansel Elgort clearly knows how to move a crowd, and it's by showing off some pretty serious pipes. If you're awaiting the release of his upcoming film Baby Driver, let this video serve as a little treat to help pass the time. While attending his cousin's wedding over the weekend, the actor from The Fault in Our Stars took to the reception stage and gave a pretty amazing performance of the '50s classic "I've Never Been in Love Before."
His brother, Warren, recorded the performance, which Ansel later posted on his Instagram. "Sang one of my favorite old love ballads for my cousin @phoebeawhite's wedding. 'I've Never Been In Love Before.' So happy for their passionate union. Looking forward to spending more time with the newlyweds."
Take a peek at the swoon-worthy crooner below.
Immediately after the performance, the newlyweds graced the actor with lots of hugs. The original song was released in the 1950 musical Guys and Dolls. Even better, the actor later posted the full video on Twitter! Again, watch him slay the Frank Loesser–penned ballad.
He wrote, "Honored to sing for my cousin Pheebe's wedding. Welcome to the family Divya. ❤️🍾 'I've never been in love before' from Guys and Dolls."
As for the 23-year-old's love life, the actor has been involved with childhood sweetheart Violetta Komyshan, and, yes, he's a self-proclaimed romantic. Lucky gal.
"I like romanticizing romance," he previously told Elle. "I like to go on really nice dates. I've made some money, but I don't spend it on anything besides my rent. But I go to nice dinners. And I like to go with a girl. I prefer being with a girlfriend long-term. I prefer to be with someone I can trust. I'm more into that."
He continued, "I like strong women. Physical women. My dad photographed a lot of beautiful dancers. My mom was a dancer. I love when a girl is like, 'I can't hang out. I have to go to class.' And I go pick her up and she's all sweaty in a leotard with her hair in a bun. That's the hottest thing ever."
