Life and work is continuing on for Anna Faris and Chris Pratt while they sort out their separation. Now, Anna has made her first statement since the separation came to light on her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified.
"Hey, dear listeners: I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you,” she said at the top of the episode, which featured a pre-taped interview with My Favorite Murder hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark.
Anna has discussed her relationship on her podcast many times in the past, and in recent months, she was open about the strain in her marriage. "My long-distance relationship with Chris, I wouldn’t describe it as that, but we do spend a lot of time apart," Anna said in a May episode, according to Entertainment Weekly. "But the advantage of that is it makes you so appreciate the time you have together, and you really, really value that. … And you don’t want to waste it fighting, and you know, like, all the minutiae. It’s a high price to pay, you know, but it is a benefit. A silver lining."
Over the weekend, Chris accepted the award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor at the Teen Choice Awards in his first appearance since the separation announcement. The actor was spotted without his wedding ring, and he made no mention of Anna in his acceptance speech.
Though Anna's most recent post-separation statement was brief, it's clear that the actress has been paying attention to the media attention surrounding her relationship. The couple, who were married for eight years, announced their separation just days ago via social media, writing, "We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried really hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep the situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."
Let's just hope for the best for these two.
